Summer with the AURAEKO ACADEMY
This year’s edition of Summer with the AURAEKO ACADEMY has concluded. The project included educational workshops for children during a day camp organized by the Maków Cultural Center, environmental knowledge competitions THE ENVIRONMENT IS A WOMAN? and ECODAY at the “Balcerów” Vocational Development Center.
Environmental workshops at the Maków Cultural Center
On July 8th, the Maków Cultural Center hosted an environmental workshop for children participating in the summer day camp. During the workshop, children took part in games and activities themed around proper waste management, created flower and wicker compositions and decorations by utilizing used packaging, and participated in interactive educational activities. The purpose of these classes was to expand knowledge about the proper handling of electronic waste, waste batteries and packaging waste, and to encourage ZERO WASTE living.
Environmental knowledge competitions under the theme THE ENVIRONMENT IS A WOMEN?
In partnership with the POLONEZ Cinema and Theatre in Skierniewice and as part of the Cinema for Women initiative, an environmental knowledge competition took place under the playful title THE ENVIRONMENT IS A WOMAN? On July 7th and August 4th, 2025, educational booths awaited viewers before Cinema for Women screenings, where they could expand their knowledge of proper waste management and participate in educational games. At the same time, they learn about the correct handling of waste equipment and waste batteries. The prizes in these competitions were double passes to Cinema for Women screenings.
ECODAY at the Balcerów Vocational Development Center
On August 27th, 2025, environmental workshops for children, parents, and caretakers of people with disabilities were held at the “Balcerów” Vocational Development Center of the “Wspólna Troska” Association. Project participants explored the principles of environmental awareness and proper waste management through engaging activities. The workshops featured a range of artistic, physical, manual, and educational activities, which included:
ECO-artists corner – creating works using wicker, dried flowers, and other natural materials
ECO-play corner – fun and games with waste packaging
ECO-thinking corner – educational station, wheel of fortune – knowledge on proper waste management
“SECOND LIFE of everyday items” garage corner – project participants brought items they no longer use but that may be useful to others. Everyone could take home what they needed.
