Summer with the AURAEKO ACADEMY
This year’s edition of Summer with the AURAEKO ACADEMY has concluded. The project included two educational campaigns: the ecological knowledge competition ECOLOGY IS A WOMAN? and workshops titled ECOLOGY WITHOUT BARRIERS.
Educational Competition ECOLOGY IS A WOMAN?
In partnership with the Skierniewice POLONEZ Cinema and Theatre and as part of the Cinema for Women initiative, an ecological knowledge competition took place under the playful title ECOLOGY IS A WOMAN? On 1 July and 5 August 2024, preceding the Cinema for Women screenings, lectures were given on the proper handling of waste equipment, batteries, and packaging waste, followed by an ecological knowledge quiz. Participants responded to 15 questions, with each winner receiving three tickets to Cinema for Women screenings.
Workshop ECOLOGY WITHOUT BARRIERS
On 28 and 29 August 2024, at the Vocational Activity Centre “Balcerów” of the “Wspólna Troska” Association, ecological workshops were held for children, parents, and caretakers of people with disabilities. Over the course of two days of ecological adventure, participants explored the principles of ecology and proper waste management through engaging activities. The workshops featured a range of artistic, physical, manual, and educational activities, which included:
ECO-artists corner – creating works using wicker, dry flowers, and other natural materials
ECO-play corner – fun and games with waste packaging
FLOWERS corner – planting flowering and melliferous plants
ECO-thinking corner – educational station, wheel of fortune – knowledge on proper waste management
Garage corner SECOND LIFE of everyday objects – project participants brought items they no longer use but that may be useful to others. Everyone could take home what they needed.
As part of the AKADEMIA AURAEKO project, we continuously strive to find new solutions and reach diverse groups of recipients with our ecological message, because ecology knows no boundaries and recognises no barriers.
